Adoption conditions
We don't mean to question anyone's ability to adopt: we just want to keep these cats from going through the trauma of abandonment again, and to find the best possible home for each one.
First, a questionnaire
Every cat is a world of their own: some are perfectly happy in a flat, others need more space, and some need to be the only cat. The questionnaire is about matchmaking — finding the home that suits your cat, and the cat that suits your home.
Contract and follow-up
There is always an adoption contract, with a pre-adoption check before and follow-up after. If you are far away, it happens remotely with emails and photos; sometimes a partner rescue in your area pays a visit.
Rehomed with everything done
- FIV and FeLV (leukaemia) test.
- Pentofel vaccine (trivalent + leukaemia), with a booster if fostered for over a month.
- Rabies vaccine if they came out of the pound.
- Internal and external deworming.
- Microchip: in the adopter's name if the cat is already neutered; otherwise ownership is transferred after neutering.
- Neutering, or a vet-certified commitment if still a kitten.
Adoption donation
€80 for adults (everything done) and €50 for kittens (everything except neutering). It covers part of the vet costs, and vet invoices for everything are available if you want them.
Far away? They travel
Cats travel by MRW courier outside Badajoz, anywhere in Spain. You don't pay for the transport: only for the carrier (€15 for kittens, €20 for adults).
Indoor life, always
Cats are not rehomed to fields or plots to hunt mice, nor to live outdoors or in warehouses. They are only rehomed to houses or flats where the cat has no access to the street; balconies must be enclosed or netted, and windows fitted with mosquito screens.
It's the best guarantee of a long, healthy life.
